You know those people you meet. The ones clearly destined for something bigger than what meets the eye. Well, I was recently lucky enough to meet someone like that. Her name is Jen and she’s the founder of game-changing hair brushes, called ‘Happy Hair Brush’. Aside from the ‘minor’ detail that her brushes are truly outstanding, Jen’s on a mission!

I remember the first time she called me to find out how we can help her grow/promote her brand…

She started telling me about victims of domestic abuse, and how their heads are so sensitive from having their hair pulled from an abusive partner that they can’t bear to brush their hair. Or women who suffer depression so badly that they can’t get out of bed for days and to brush their hair is just one more incredible hurdle for them. Then you have parents of children who have a disability and a simple act of brushing hair is a daily battle. Let alone those who simply have unruly hair/daughters with long hair- a market in itself. Jen also spoke about the technology behind the product, but it was the stories she revealed that hit the nerve most. (no wonder facts tell, but stories sell).

Jen wanted her brand to ‘be the change’ and chose to partner with us so we could help get the word out to more Mums. What a privilege for us!!!

Happy Hair Brush was one of our outstanding partners involved in the recent Influencer Marketing Event, Bloggers BBQ.

When we told our vast network of thousands of Mum influencers about Jen’s plight and also to announce that Happy Hair Brush would be at our influencer marketing event last week (the first of 3 huge events for the year), the support was outstanding!!! Some influences actually drove across states to meet Jen in person, try the product for themselves and learn more about the game-changing mission. (the influencers who attended and met Jen at Saturday’s event had 2.9m reach and as ‘micro influencers’ share greatest engagement with their readers). This was really a proud moment to see influencers band together for social good.

Here’s a couple pictures of Jen/Happy Hair Brush in action

Face to face meetings sparked emotional contagion.

Meeting people in person helped build rapport, aligned values and fostered relationships with influencers who otherwise may not have given the brand their undivided attention.
Jen’s not alone. More and more we’re seeing these meetings heighten engagement with the brand, enables deeper 2-way education, that results in more emotive posts to genuinely inspire readers.

This magic was evident on the day and in the coverage that continues to follow.

Jen has big plans and with the incredible support of these influencers we had the chance to introduce her to, the Happy Hair Brush’s mission to ensure #onemillionhappywomen, we are one step closer to a better tomorrow.
For now – I hope that Jen’s story inspires other brands to look beyond how awesome their product is and think about the biggest impact it can have on your customer/the community – and then shape their message to suit. (This is one of our favourite parts of working with brands; identifying the core message that will have the biggest impact with Mums and shaping campaigns to amplify this).

Wishing you all a motivating a rewarding way to start the year too. Thank you, January. It’s been fun!
