WHEN Christie Nicholas opened Kids Business, she knew it wouldn’t be child’s play.

The 34-year-old Sandringham mother of two runs the communications agency which acts as a conduit between bloggers and businesses, and aims to inspire mums.

“I create opportunities where they can learn from one another. We focus on inspiring, motivating and empowering them as key influencers who have the tools to influence a wider community,” she said.

Mrs Nicholas runs about four major events a year and recently held the Bloggers Brunch, an event for bloggers to connect with one other.

“Mums are spending more time online, but with Facebook and social media, we also saw brands wanted to get more personal with mums,” she said.

Mrs Nicholas said she was passionate about motivating other mums to feel good about themselves and said bloggers provided a support network that was a click away.

“When you are running a busy household and going through so much, if you are having a difficult moment, knowing you can reach out to other community groups can give you that little bit of support to get through your day,” she said.

“Bloggers out there are inspiring their readers with a whole myriad of life tips. It could be anything from juggling work-life balance to how to manage a household and not break the budget, to what you’re going to cook … as well as dealing with more serious issues like post-natal depression.

“At the end of the day we all have similar things we’re going through in terms of balancing life and the demands that come with it.”
