Interview with Kate from Babysitters & More.

May 2013 Update: “Thank you again for another excellent Bloggers Brunch.  It was great to meet some more progressive brands who are interested in working with savvy women bloggers around Australia.  Without you we would not have the opportunity to meet these great brands, and nor would they have the opportunity to meet a pool of fabulous bloggers.”

Q – Which brands have you started work with via KB events?

A – I have worked with a number of brands, and have recently secured a great weekly blogging contract with Valcorp, working with the Sirena Tuna brand.

Q – What does this work involve?

A – The Sirena Tuna blog is called ‘What’s For Dinner’ and is aligned to our website audience (Babysitters and More) of extremely busy working parents. Each week we work with Sirena to provide a recipe to our database of busy working parents – a simple to cook, delicious idea that the whole family can enjoy. We love working with such a great brand and making life easier for our followers!

Q – Did you approach the brands with ideas, or did they make requests I approached the brands with ideas.

A – Most of the brands I have spoken to are not very familiar with the social media space, they come along to Christie’s events to learn how they can leverage the blogging space. They are very interested in hearing what you, as a blogger, can offer them and how you can promote their brand.

Q – What feedback do you have for brands who want to work with bloggers?

A – Think beyond ‘samples and giveaways’ – there is huge potential to spread the word about your fantastic brands in unique, novel and exciting ways. Be open to ideas that the bloggers bring – they know their audience well and they want to work with brands that resonate with their audience. It’s a win:win situation.

Q – What feedback to you have for bloggers who want to work with brands?

A – Go in with a game plan. Target the brands that you know will resonate with your audience. Talk with the brands to find out how they want to approach the blogger space. Always follow up and provide ideas as to how you can work together. Be innovative!

Q – Any other testimonial/final words:

A – Kids Business provides a unique service to Brands by putting them in direct contact with a trusted group of experienced bloggers. The women you will meet have an amazing and vast audience of followers that you can tap in to for below the line marketing. Make the most of it!
